Freeview New Zealand

Freeview New Zealand started with MHEG-5 in 2007.

The MHEG-5 profile for new zealand is derived from the UK profile. The project started with a closed group of manufacturers. Today, the MHEG-5 profile can be downloaded here.

The most important changes (compared to the UK profile) include:

• support for Maori characters
• EPG key (including new "Userinput registers" and an EngineEvent)
